Amnesty International is the world’s leading human rights organisation, with over 8 million members who work to ensure that everyone has access to human rights.
Amnesty is funded overwhelmingly by individuals making regular monthly donations, and the centre of Amnesty; the International Secretariat (IS) is funded from the established national offices (Sections) in economically mature countries.
A group, the Global Crisis Group (GCG), was convened by the International Board (IB) to address issues related to the Covid-19 pandemic. Amnesty has been impacted both by its ability to perform its human rights work as well as in its fundraising activity. My mid 2020, most Sections were forecasting declines in income in 2021.
Q5 were brought in to ensure that the GCG could have well structured, high quality discussions in order to maximise the benefit of bringing the group together, and get to an appropriate set of recommendations for the IS.
“I have a very positive impression of Q5 from this project. My feeling is your support was of considerable value to us through a difficult period of uncertainty. You and your team clearly worked diligently, and you were highly responsive. I would say the same to someone if approached privately, and would willingly make the introduction to others in similar vein.”
